The composition of Masterportal

OGC-compliant

Standardized interfaces
Masterportal is systematically based on the OGC standards (WMS, WFS, CS-W, WPS) and is therefore ideally suited as a geoportal for existing geodata infrastructures.

Configurable

Configure instead of develop
Whether it’s a thematic map or a comprehensive geoportal — configuring Masterportal is easy and requires no programming knowledge.

Responsive

Smartphone, tablet, desktop
Masterportal is built responsively from the ground up and it works on mobile devices, tablets, and the desktop.

Web technology

Don’t reinvent the wheel.
In addition to OpenLayers, Masterportal builds on the tried and tested libraries VueJS, Bootstrap and ChartJS among others.

Open-source

Participation desired
Masterportal is open-source software. It is published under the MIT open-source license and is therefore accessible and free to use for everyone.

Admin-friendly

Pure client technology
Masterportal has no server-side dependencies. It only requires a web server and geoservices from a geodata infrastructure.

Modular

Customize
The modular development approach allows new models to be developed without having to delve too deep into the code.

Metadata integration

Use existing information
Geodata infrastructures capture metadata about datasets. Masterportal queries and displays the associated metadata for each layer.
