Masterportal 3.0.0 Release on June 28th 2024

The new Masterportal Major Release 3.0 will be available from June 28, 2024! This version places the software on a future-proof foundation, improves the code structure, offers more possibilities for customization, and enhances usability on both desktop and mobile devices. For mobile usage, particular improvements have been made to the handling of the topic tree and the tool area.

The development of Masterportal 3.0 incorporated not only the experiences and requirements of the implementation partnership but also the results of specially commissioned UI and design analyses. The result is a completely redesigned user interface with a search function that delivers structured search results and numerous configuration options. For example, it is now possible to use a button to directly set a searched address as the starting point for routing.

The topic tree has also been redesigned and now offers extended features, such as the ability to select background maps using preview images. Additionally, the underlying software libraries have been updated, including the migration from vue.js version 2 to vue.js version 3.

In addition to the features that were already included in Masterportal version 2 and remain fully usable, the new release introduces further innovations:

• Switch the background map using a new control element that allows for quick selection.
• Use common drag-and-drop controls to arrange the order of the displayed theme layers and within the various Masterportal tools.
• Control themed layers via layerpills allowing for fast activation or deactivation of layers and calls of metadata.
• Freely mask or show configurable menues to allow for free views of the map geoinformation data or allow for directed menue implementation.
