Masterportal Version 3.21.0 released!
With version 3.21.0, Masterportal receives a comprehensive update that introduces new features as well as important improvements in stability and usability.
A key focus of this release is enhanced 3D support. 3D layers can now be grouped in a similar way to 2D layers, making it much easier to organize large datasets. In addition, feature highlighting in 3D view has been restored, including the display of feature information via shared links. The search bar now also retains highlighted features in 3D views.
The print module has also been improved: heatmap layers are now included in print outputs for the first time. In addition, legend labels can be configured individually, and developers can integrate custom layout selection components. New configuration options also allow more flexible styling of polygons, for example by using centered icons that are also displayed in legends and printouts.
The system’s extensibility has been further expanded. Add-ons can now be loaded as Vue components, and optional integration of Vuetify has been introduced. The filter functionality has also been refined: filters will now only be displayed when the corresponding layer is selected in the subject tree.
In addition to new features, numerous bugs have been fixed. These include issues with legend sorting, errors in OIDC login, and inconsistencies in layer ordering when loading shared map views. Stability when using analytics tools such as Matomo has also been improved, preventing the application from failing if scripts are blocked.
From a technical perspective, the system has also been modernized: several dependencies have been updated, outdated packages removed, and build processes stabilized. Particularly noteworthy is the improvement to Hot Module Replacement (HMR), which now works more reliably.
With these enhancements, Masterportal 3.21.0 continues to focus on providing a powerful, flexible, and stable platform for web-based map applications.
